Ceylon Loop is a locally operated travel team based in Sigiriya, Sri Lanka. We arrange airport transfers, private wildlife safaris, cooking classes and village tours across the island. This page explains exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, and the terms that apply when you book with us - written in plain language, no legal wall of text.

The short version: we only ask for what we need to run your trip, we never sell your data, you pay cash at the end, and you can cancel free of charge up to 2 days before your activity.

When you enquire or book, we collect only the details you send us:

• Booking details - your name, travel dates, pickup location, destination, number of guests and any notes you add (children's ages, dietary requirements, flight numbers).
• Contact details - the phone number or email you use to reach us, so we can confirm your driver and send updates.
• Newsletter email - if you subscribe in the footer, we store your email address only to send travel updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by messaging us.
• Flight information - for airport pickups we keep your flight number so the driver can track delays and adjust the pickup time automatically.

We do not run accounts, loyalty programmes or payment forms on this website - there is nothing to log into and no card details ever pass through our site.

Your details are used for one purpose only: running your trip.

• To confirm your booking and match you with the right driver, guide or host.
• To send your driver's name and number, pickup time and meeting point on WhatsApp.
• To track flight delays and move your pickup automatically.
• To plan routes, vehicle sizes and meal or activity requirements you told us about.
• To reply to questions you send through the contact or booking forms.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling or advertising, and we never sell, rent or trade it to anyone.

Every Ceylon Loop service is pay-at-the-end. You pay your driver, safari guide or cooking instructor directly in cash (LKR or agreed currency) when the experience finishes - no deposits, no prepayment, no online card payments.

Because payments happen in person, this website never collects, stores or processes card numbers, bank details or payment credentials of any kind. Published prices (airport price table, per-jeep safari rates, per-person tour rates) are fixed and include fuel, tolls, parking and our service - park entry tickets are paid separately at the gate at official rates, and we hand you the receipt.

Bookings are confirmed over WhatsApp. When you tap a booking or contact button, your details are pre-filled into a message that you press send on - we only receive what you choose to send. Those message threads are handled by WhatsApp (Meta), whose own privacy policy governs the messaging channel itself.

We keep the booking-related messages we receive for as long as needed to deliver your trip and handle any follow-up questions, then delete them on request.

This website does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or third-party analytics. Nothing you do here is tracked across other websites.

Two technical services are loaded to make the site work:

• OpenStreetMap & Nominatim - power the route maps, kilometre counts and the destination search box. Queries go to openstreetmap.org; their usage policy applies to those requests.
• Google Fonts - our typefaces are served from Google's font servers.

External links (WhatsApp, social sharing) take you to third-party sites with their own policies - we are not responsible for their content.

We keep booking details only as long as they are useful for delivering your trip and resolving anything that comes afterwards. When you ask us to delete your information, we do - unless we are legally required to keep it.

Information is shared with exactly three kinds of recipient:

• The driver, guide or host running your booking (only what they need for your trip).
• The national park counter, for official entry tickets in your name.
• Authorities when the law requires it.

Access is limited to the small team that operates your booking. We do not run an open database of customer details, and no payment data exists to leak in the first place.

You can, at any time:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete your information.
• Withdraw newsletter consent or object to how your data is used.

Message us on WhatsApp or use the contact form and we will act on it promptly - no forms, no fees.

A booking is confirmed when we reply with your driver's or host's details on WhatsApp. Until that message arrives, treat the request as an enquiry. Please check your dates, pickup point, flight number and guest count before confirming - send us any correction straight away.

• Prices shown on the website are final for the service described.
• Child seats, extra stops and special requests are free when told at booking time.
• We may adjust a route if weather or road conditions make it unsafe; we will always tell you first.

Plans change - our cancellation terms are deliberately simple:

• Free cancellation up to 2 days before the scheduled activity, for any reason.
• Flight delayed or cancelled? Airport pickups move with your new landing time at no extra charge, even overnight.
• Heavy rain or unsafe conditions on the water? The village tour is rescheduled free of charge or refunded in full.
• Changes needed inside 2 days? Message us anyway - we are humans and we try to help.

We operate our services with licensed, experienced drivers and guides and maintain our vehicles. Travel always carries some inherent risk - safaris involve wildlife, village tours involve water and uneven ground - so please follow your guide's instructions and consider travel insurance for your trip.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed; we will never promise what nature decides. Entry to national parks follows the official ticket rates and park rules set by the Sri Lankan authorities.
